Everyone can read Pit Chat. Sending messages and showing a typing indicator require an account with an 18-or-older answer. Players under 18 can play and enter tournaments but cannot send chat messages. Update your answer in Account & security when it changes.
A good game starts with good company.
Guests may read the public lounge. A verified account is required to post, choose a public screen name or send a typing indicator.
- Keep messages respectful. No profanity, slurs, sexual content, threats, harassment or encouragement of harm.
- Never publish someone’s private information. Keep email addresses, phone numbers, passwords and verification codes out of chat.
- No scams, spam, impersonation or attempts to evade moderation.
- Keep the conversation relevant to horseshoes, the game and the community.
How moderation works
Names and messages are screened before publication. A blocked message can be edited and sent again. Automated screening can make mistakes and cannot catch every harmful message.
Use Report beside a message to alert the site operator. Reports are reviewed when the operator is available; this is not an emergency service. Messages may be removed and accounts may lose access for breaking these rules.
Your drafts stay yours
A typing indicator shares only that you are typing and expires automatically. Your draft is not sent to other players or the screening service before you press Send.
