HORSESHOE THROWDOWN · PIT CHAT

How to play

Find your rhythm. Find the stake.

01

Choose your game

Warm up in Practice, face a computer opponent, play with a friend on the same device, or open Online Play for a friend match, tournament or random opponent.

02

Set up your pitcher

Choose your pitcher, name and state in Your Setup. Pick a shoe model and color, then your pitching style. Your clothing and release preferences stay separate from match rules.

03

Hold. Release. Ringer.

Watch the aim marker. Hold the gold pitch button or Space to lock your aim and build power. Release near the gold power line. Adjust your aim for outdoor wind.

04

Make every shoe count

Both shoes share your pitch allowance. Keep both pitches on the same pitching side. Once all four shoes settle, the game measures the final positions and awards points under your selected rules.

Match rules, your way

Match Setup contains the scoring method, distance and game length. Outdoor venues offer wind choices. The Sandlot brings five sand courts to a county fair, where a short, open shoe can slide a few inches toward the stake. Cancellation offsets opposing ringers and points; count-all awards both players’ qualifying points.

Use How to play inside the game for detailed scoring, controller controls and replay shortcuts.

Each pairing plays in its own game. Players in different pairings do not share one court or wait for an unrelated match to finish. A player completes their current pairing before starting their next match.
