Back to the gameHow RANKINGS works
Your best three completed tournaments in the past year determine your ringer percentage. With fewer tournaments, we use your best two or one. We add the ringers and shoes from those tournaments, then calculate ringers ÷ shoes × 100. A tournament drops out on its first anniversary. Lifetime tournament game wins and losses never expire and do not affect your percentage or ranking. They update after each finished game, even while other games in that tournament are still being played.
Rankings compare unrounded percentages; exact ties share a rank. Tournaments with no recorded shoes show a finish but do not establish a percentage. First place is based on round-robin wins. Ties for first require playoff games; with three tied pitchers, the highest round-robin ringer percentage receives the first-round bye. Larger ties use a percentage-seeded ladder, starting with the lowest two seeds. Remaining places follow round-robin wins, ringer percentage, then point differential; exact ties share a place. Playoff ringers, shoes, wins and losses count toward tournament statistics, while round-robin standings determine the order behind the champion.
Tournaments require an account. Casual and practice matches do not count. Results recorded before account-linked tracking began cannot be assigned to an account. These are Horseshoe Throwdown game rankings, independent of NHPA eShoe and real-world records.
